What my customers say about my service

★★★★★
“Jeff was able to get me in last minute for a PPI when I was starting to feel wary about my potential purchase. He was extremely thorough with a proper report and was able to save me thousands of dollars by catching underlying issues that would be impossible for an inexperienced person to find.”
“I had a great experience working with Jeff. He was honest, professional, and never pressured me into buying a car. He actually advised me not to buy the first vehicle after the inspection because he didn't think it was worth the price.”
Kalen W. · Google
“As someone who knew absolutely nothing about cars, I really appreciated how he took the time to understand exactly what I was looking for and explain everything clearly along the way. Thanks to his help, I ended up finding and buying my very first car. Highly recommend, especially for first-time buyers.”
Iris Y. · Google
“Jeff was very thorough and comprehensive. He found some issues the dealership inspection missed. Would definitely recommend.”

What a test drive will not tell you
Hidden body repairs
Not every accident repair goes through an insurance claim, and some take a specialist to find. I measure the paint on each panel with a gauge. If a panel has been repainted, I check how the repair was done.
Problems with no warning light
I read fault codes, and I also read live data. I look for readings that are off. No warning light and no codes does not mean the car is running right.
Potential cost in the first year of ownership
Potential maintenance and repair costs the vehicle might need in the near future. For example, a car can pass a dealership's safety inspection with 4 mm of tire tread or more. But if the tread is sitting at 4 mm, you will likely need a new set of tires within your first 10,000 km. A new set of tires can cost one to two thousand dollars, depending on the size and brand.
What I inspect
Cars, trucks, vans, box trucks, and more. Hybrids and EVs get their own checklist, with battery health read from a professional scan tool. I do not inspect Teslas.
- Body, paint, glass, and lights
- Paint thickness and repair quality
- Odometer reading against wear
- Interior and power functions
- Engine, fluids, and drivetrain
- Steering and suspension
- Undercarriage and exhaust
- Brakes and tires
- Fault codes and live data
- EV and hybrid checklist
- Road test when permitted
Every inspection includes the undercarriage and suspension.

Why mobile instead of a shop
Same-day service available
A good used car can sell fast. I work 7 days a week, so you do not have to wait for a shop opening.
You do not need to show up
Send me the address and the seller's number. I set the time with the seller, inspect the car, and email you the report. You save the time off work and the hour of waiting.
Convenient for both buyer and seller
Many dealerships and private sellers are reluctant to bring their vehicle to a shop because it is very time-consuming.
Buying from out of town
Greater Vancouver has a lot of used cars to choose from, with more options and often lower prices than smaller towns. Cars driven locally also tend to have less rust and a cleaner undercarriage. I inspect the car and email you the report before you commit to the trip.

Oil leak
FailFound oil leak near rear main seal. Currently not actively dripping. Will take some time to become an active leak. Repair will require transmission out to replace the seal. Very costly job.

Vacuum hoses
FailOne of the vacuum hoses is disconnected.

Pre-purchase inspection
Service rate is based on distance and vehicle type.

Price negotiation
After an inspection only. I negotiate the price with the seller, and the fee is 20% of what you save, after tax. Example: a car is listed at $12,000 + 12% tax, and I negotiate it down to $11,000 + 12% tax. You save $1,000 + 12% tax, which is $1,120. My fee is 20% of that: $224.

Help finding a car
Share your budget and requirements. I review what is available on the market, filter out the poor options, and narrow it down to a shortlist of 8 to 10 vehicles. You choose one or two, so your inspection budget goes to the right car.
Questions
Which vehicles do you inspect?+−
Any used vehicle I can inspect on site: cars, SUVs, pickup trucks, and vans, across Japanese, European, Korean, and other makes. I also inspect larger vehicles, including retired shuttle buses and box trucks. I can assess EV battery health with a professional scan tool. I do not inspect Teslas.
What are your service areas?+−
I am based in Burnaby and work across Greater Vancouver. The places I go most often are Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey, Richmond, the North Shore, the Tri-Cities, Langley, and Delta, plus nearby spots such as New Westminster and White Rock. The rate is based on distance, so a farther location costs more. Ask for a quote.
Do I need to be at the inspection?+−
No. Text me the vehicle, the address, and the seller's name and number. I confirm with them and inspect at the seller's location. I email the report as soon as the inspection is done. If you are there, we go through it on the spot.
How long does it take?+−
50-60min.
Can you do same-day?+−
Yes, subject to availability on the day.
